PSM stakers manage capital distribution to whitelisted addresses and be rewarded for it
Core V1 is a pilot project to gain further insights
Treasury management is the ultimate purpose of governance. However, the word "governance" is loaded with many prejudices in crypto and means different things to different people.
The Possum Core enables the community of PSM stakers to manage the financial resources of the Possum project via an immutable on-chain system.
The mechanisms for the Core were created from first principles, following a systematic analysis of existing governance models. We have outlined this in our deep dive blog post.
Gathering experience with a new governance system is vitally important before betting the project's future on it. That's why we iterate on the Core in steps.
Core V1 features a custom staking system that allows PSM stakers to direct PSM incentives to whitelisted addresses and be rewarded for it. The whitelist is controlled by the Possum Labs multi-sig. The main purpose of Core V1 is to acquire new insights regarding user behaviour, hence the contract is loaded with a limited sum of tokens that can be earned and distributed by stakers. This amount should last for at least one year of operation.
Core V2 will capitalize on the learnings we get from V1. It will also go the next step and outsource the whitelist management to the community. This iteration will launch in 2025.
